Thousands will descend upon the stunning Old Billingsgate, London for this years Retail Week Live on the 24th-25th May to witness a plethora of outstanding speakers, who are pioneers of their industry and have been handpicked for their track records in leading change, anticipating new trends and harnessing innovation.

They represent a fierce group of leaders who aren’t afraid to take back a measure of control – and provide a sense of hope. But more than that, they will give you the tools to deliver radical change.

It is an event which will bring you progressive topics and speakers, with a programme that is brave, fun and unexpected. It is the authoritative and trusted voice in the industry and a true matchmaker, connecting the retail ecosystem.

As well as world-class content, Retail Week Live also boasts a whole host of unforgettable experiences ranging from wellness and pampering through to live entertainment, all designed to spark connections.

Connect Inspire Challenge

This year Retail Week Live will be split into two distinct focuses.

Tuesday 24th May: Digital transformation and Innovation. Here, you will have the chance to hear from industry experts such as, Boohoo, The Very Group and Walgreens Boots Alliance.

Wednesday 25th May: People and Planet.  This promises to be a day of  importance as businesses such a Nespresso, Transfriendly, Ocado and New Comma deliver insightful and inspirational talks.

This two-day programme will shine a spotlight on the outstanding people, projects and partnerships that are defining the retail sector, to provide those in attendance with actionable insights to achieve strategic and operational goals.

Visitors will hear and learn from over 150 speakers, meet 50 of the latest start-ups and network with attendees from across the ecosystem and of varying levels within businesses.

In just 48 hours, Retail Week live will connect, inspire and challenge the retail ecosystem to create efficient and purposeful business to succeed in a world that never stops changing.

Piglet in Bed

One business who will be at the heart and centre of the event is the digital-first, eco-friendly bedwear and linen retailer Piglet in Bed.

We caught up Jake Newbould, Chief Marketing Officer for one of the UK’s most exciting and innovative brands who explained to us why events like Retail Week Live are vital, especially given the last two years.

“Retail Week Live is hugely important. It’s great to get out from behind the desk and connect with other people in the retail landscape. It often helps spark fresh ideas and perspectives to your day-to-day roll.”

“Everyone is facing similar challenges and there tends to be a precedent for a lot of the problems business’ might face. Rather than starting from scratch you can often benefit in talking to others to see if they have insights that can help your situation.”

This is an event that is set up to energise and inspire as Britain finally gets back to business. Piglet is one of those aspirational bands that others will look to as a source of inspiration throughout the event.

Founded by Jessica Hanley  in 2016, the company has been on meteoric rise, that has been born out of hard work and determination.

They were launched in Jessica’s mothers, West Sussex garden shed with a hope that she wasn’t alone in looking for high quality basics for her home that are as cosy as they are beautiful.

They started small with just linen duvet covers and pillowcases in a few calming colours and have since grown the brand to include sleepwear, loungewear, table linens, curtains and more.

One of the many key aims of Retail Week Live is to challenge the retail ecosystem and Jake tells us how Piglet are doing just that.

“Piglet in Bed seeks to empower everyone to express themselves in whatever way they see fit, however they feel happiest. Shopping for bedding and sleepwear can often feel quite functional / uninspiring.

“Our aim is to make dressing your bed, bedroom and home as exciting, personal and artistic as dressing yourself — a true reflection of what makes you, you!”


Jake will also be on-hand to judge at this year’s Retail Week Live Discovery Zone. This will include some of the most disruptive retail tech start-ups around, showcasing their game-changing solutions to retailers who are looking to find the next big tech trend that could revolutionise retail.

“It will be a great opportunity to not only value-exchange with thriving start-ups but equally learn from their plans on how they’ll innovate in their respective sector. ”

The Discovery judges will select the top 25 start-ups they think are worthy to pitch live on stage and compete for the title of Start-up of the Year, which will be announced at the end of day two.
