HOW TO MAKE A
Coinneach MacLeod, otherwise known as the Hebridean Baker to millions across the world has released his debut book: The Hebridean Baker, Recipes & Wee Stories from the Scottish Islands.
The book gives you a true taste of Scotland's wild and windswept Outer Hebrides. One of our favourite recipes from the book is his wonderful Gaelic Coffee. The perfect tipple to warm your soul on a cold winter evening.
1 teaspoon light brown sugar 150ml freshly brewed coffee 50ml Scottish Whisky 2 tablespoons double cream Pinch of freshly ground nutmeg
Fill a glass latte mug with hot water and let it sit for 2 minutes
Empty the water out from the latte glass and add the brown sugar. Pour in the coffee, stirring to dissolve sugar and add the whisky. In a separate bowl, whisk your cream until soft peaks form. (cream should be thick but pourable) Gently pour over the back of a warm spoon to form a thick layer on top of the coffee. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and enjoy!
